Friendship Picnic (8/19/2009)

On a balmy Wednesday afternoon in August, residents from Better Housing for Tompkins County managed senior living rental properties, Juniper Manor and JM II in Trumansburg, Newfield Garden Apartments in Newfield, and Fountain Manor in Slaterville Springs, Gathered at the South Hill Business Campus, 950 Danby Road, in Ithaca.

We had a terrific spread of both food and prize packages because of the continued support of grocers like P&C, Trumansburg Shur Save, Tops Friendly Markets, and Wegmans, as well as Better Housing Board and staff, our new supporters, and the residents themselves. Special thanks to our neighbors; Goodrich, and the South Hill Business Campus management for allowing us to use their spacious room and furniture.

A great time was had by all; ring-toss and bingo games allowed eager residents to acquire raffle tickets that were used to vie for donated prizes. Prizes included spa days, and pet pampering collections, frames and garden gear; we even had prepackaged picnics with wine from local vintners and home made jam.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The time with friends, family, and conversations with BHTC staff, leave as memories that we hope will last until next year!
