Media Campaign
We have combined media of all sizes in the media and public information component of the Education Initiative. Each message asks “Hasn’t this member of the work force earned a home within reach?” Through these messages we stress that the people who need homes within reach are hard workers who are necessary in our lives and our communities. Remember this as you keep an eye and ear out for our many advertisements.
Print Ads
We currently run ads in The Ithaca Journal, Ithaca Child, and three of the Finger Lakes Community Newspapers.
Bus Ads
We have one ad on the back of a TCAT bus, as well as 20 advertisements inside.
Don’t be surprised to hear one of our Public Service Announcements when listening to your favorite radio station. We have four different PSAs that will be played repeatedly from January to June 2006.
Billboard
Our billboard features a firefighter and asks “He just saved your house. Hasn’t he earned a home within reach?” It travels every few months and is slated to make appearances in Dryden, Lansing, and Newfield.
The Home Within Reach series
Once a month for the next several months, expect to find an Op-Ed piece in the Ithaca Journal relating to Homes Within Reach and Tompkins County. Missed some of them? You can read them here:
